The First Kaleidoscope Conference by 8am (LawSites)

8am, formerly AffiniPay, launched its first Kaleidoscope conference in Austin, highlighting AI’s role in legal practices. The event mirrored early ClioCon energy—polished, vibrant, and rich in networking opportunities. Despite modest attendance, it generated momentum for future growth, with plans already in place for a Las Vegas edition. The conference underscored AI’s impact on law firm workflows and positioned 8am as a stronger player in the legal tech space.

Deloitte Legal and Legora announced a strategic collaboration to deliver customized AI-powered solutions that improve workflows and client services. Their focus is on embedding AI to enhance legal operations, reduce inefficiencies, and align service delivery with business outcomes. This partnership highlights the growing trend of established players teaming with legal tech firms to scale innovation in client-facing services.

Jus Mundi introduced Jus AI 2, a next-generation AI legal research tool that combines agentic reasoning with user control. Capable of processing 75,000 documents per minute, it delivers structured, auditable answers. Already popular in arbitration, Jus AI 2 aims to expand across practice areas, offering firms faster, more reliable insights while maintaining transparency in results.

The EU AI Act is redefining compliance in legal tech procurement. Firms are being urged to assess AI systems with a seven-point checklist focused on transparency, accountability, and human oversight. Early compliance is seen as critical to reducing risk, building client trust, and securing growth. Vendors and law firms alike are rethinking their AI strategies to align with the Act’s requirements.
